Bangladesh: The next IT outsourcing destination? - December 2006
The world is moving towards the very naïve concept of 'Innovation Economy' where knowledge and innovation will lead the development of any country. People leveraging on the blessings of Information Communication Technologies (ICT) are bringing in changes rapidly in every aspects of life.
This article is written with the intention to find out where in Bangladesh in this new Innovation economy and how can we bring in faster development leveraging on ICT.

Business Opportunities within the IT and Telecommunication Industry - November 2006
ICT industry in Bangladesh is relatively new in comparison to other business sectors. However, the unlimited potential of the ICT sector has commended inquisitive interests from all concerned. The impact of global hype of the ICT sector is clearly visible in Bangladesh as well. In the recent years, the local ICT sector has grown enviably.
With over 3,000 local enterprises operating in hardware, software and ISP segments, the size of Bangladesh ICT industry at present stands at USD 160 million. With the advantage of earlier initiation, the hardware segment dominates the market share (65 per cent) while the relatively late entrant, software segments command about 15 per cent of the total market. The ITES segment (15 per cent) and Internet and Network Services (5 percent) make up the remaining part of the market.

ICT4D Status Report - October 2006
This report is an attempt to monitor ICT development in different sectors and to compile civil society views and understanding of policy intervention in those areas. We consulted different relevant organizations to identify the issues of importance, to have a status check and to map the challenges and opportunities in those areas.
The areas that we tried to cover are: Localization / open content development, tele-centre movement, access / infrastructure, community radio development and e-Governance in the context of Bangladesh The study is intended to focus on pertinent areas that are relevant to ‘ICT for development’ community where a large number of civil society organizations are involved.
